Audio CD Publisher: Centaur Format: Live "Global Groove: Live 2" features some of the top dance songs of the season as well as new songs from artists who are no strangers to success on the dancefloor. The Billboard hits "Make It Last" (#1) and "Activate My Body" (#3) are two songs that jumped to the front of the pack this fall, but there is depth in the overall mix, with songs that are soon to make their own assault on the dance charts. Taxi Doll, Debby Holiday, Peter Presta and Zelma Davis are household names to dance enthusiasts, and their new tracks will soon grab the national spotlight, but don't rule out what lesser know artists will also accomplish with their new songs "Don't Laugh", "After Midnight" and "It's All Right".

I have a few of Dj Mike Cruz cd compilations. I love this one!!! Not sure as to what the other review was going with spewing how tired the music was but... do not listen.. Take a few minutes to listen to the songs on this cd. They have a great vibe and tons of energy. I especially like the Andrea Love record "It's Alright". Tom E Boy's mix is more of a happy house energy record than a tribal record. DJ Mike Cruz is on top of his Dj and production game. This is is worth buying.....

| Great for collectors of hard to find mixes...if you're still into 1998 circuit sounds |

Global Groove is one of only a few CD series out there that still bring us hard to find mixes in mostly long versions on CD, as long as we are willing to live with having the songs beatmixed. Only real problem is, the tribal/diva anthem/circuit sound is just SO late 90s. A lot has happened in dance music since then, and while some of these songs are great in that style, it's just really tired at this point, and feels so uninspired. Even some of the songs here have much BETTER, more modern mixes that were not used. Even so, it is great to see such long lengths of some of these songs. Track times and notes:
1. welcome to the groove (an intro)
2. my life...deep influence with zelma davis (5:56) (deep, dark, hard tribal track featuring the fierce vocals of ex-C&Cer Zelma Davis)
3. activate my body (escape & capello mix)...perry twins with jania (6:02) (Hot circuit diva anthem)
4. piece of my love (solar city club mix)...debby holiday (8:08) (had Debby Holiday been brought to the market 10 years ago, she would have been storming the dance charts with the likes of Deborah Cox and Amber. Great songs, just very 1998)
5. be with you(friscia & lamboy mix)...taxi doll (6:48) (tribal boredom--get your hands on the Josh Harris mix on the CD single)
6. make it last (ralphi rosario mix)...dave aude with jess (8:11) (the ONLY place I've seen this #1 billboard dance hit on CD, rosario at his best, but not my favorite mix of the song)
7. doom (john faruggio mix)...peter presta with Stephen seidita (5:18) (hard tribal track. Glad it's only 5 minutes)
8. it's all right (boy's vocal mix)...andrea love (6:50) (some female vocal, but mostly boring tribal)
9. dirty things (Jorge Jaramillo dub)...sheldon romeo with betty Brooklyn (4:44) (more tribal mixed with female vocals, but definitely picks up the pace after the last track)
10. drum nation (massivedrum mix)...midnight society with Lula (4:39) (any tribal track featuring Lula's monotone speaking is filler)
11. after midnight (nikos mix)...deep n dense (7:10) (good female vocal on a tribal track)
12. if you want (dave rose mix)...cristian paduraru (5:50) (some female vocal over a tribal track)
13. don't laugh (peter bailey & richie Santana)...winx (5:26) (Recycling an overplayed tribal track from the late 90s that has been remixed numerous times is a perfect way to sum up very UNprogressive state of this CD)
