Audio CD Publisher: Hollywood Records Format: Soundtrack, Box set This special collector's box set includes all 3 volumes of the Grey's Anatomy soundtracks. The Grey's Anatomy soundtracks feature an eclectic mix of indie pop and rock artists whose music is heard during the wildly popular ABC drama about surgical interns in Seattle. The albums' tracks, many of which can be heard during key emotional scenes in various episodes, were chosen by the show's creator and executive producer, Shonda Rhimes, and executive producer Betsy Beers from a large pool of artists introduced to them by music supervisor Alex Patsavas. "We fall in love with the songs," says Rhimes. "We ride around listening to them in our cars. We call each other to talk about them on the phone. We get them into our heads and into our souls. And then we weave them into the show because we can't live without them." Vol. 1 features electrifying music from such beloved indie artists as Rilo Kiley, The Postal Service, Ben Lee, and Medeski, Martin & Wood, as well as undiscovered talent such as London-based electropop duo Psapp, who supply the show's main title song "Cosy in the Rocket." Vol. 2 features The Fray's smash hit "How To Save A Life" as well as a special acoustic version of "Chasing Cars" by Snow Patrol. Vol. 3 features buzzing artists Brandi Carlile and The Bird and The Bee, along with Mat Kearney's beautiful "Breathe In Breathe Out," John Legend's spare and compelling "Sun Comes Up," Gomez's moving "Moon And Sun," and poignant compositions from Grace Potter & The Nocturnals ("Falling Or Flying") and Paolo Nutini ("Million Faces").

I bought this for my girlfriend who is obsessed with Grey's Anatomy. She loves the CDs and they have a permanent home in her car's CD player. As always Amazon was quick to ship.

| Good, but missing key songs...better off downloading on i-tunes. |

Out of the 1000 songs on my i-pod, 1/3 of them are from Grey's. I just thought these CD's were missing some of the best songs such as:
How Am I Doing--Anna Waronker (Addison leaves Seattle Grace)
A Bitter Song--Butterfly Boucher (Meredith struggles not to drown)
Swans--Unkle Bob (Izzie and Denny touch)
Scratch--Kendall Payne
Gabriel and the Vagabond--Foy Vance
Sleep Don't Weep--Damien Rice (Meredith is unconscious in "Some Kind of Miracle")
To Build a Home--Patrick Watson
Breathe (2 AM)--Anna Nalick (Season two when bomb explodes, killing Dylan and throwing Meredith across hall)
I just thought those were key songs missing.

I love the show and always enjoy the music they use in context. I downloaded a few of the songs from itunes, which were wonderful, then bit the bullet and bought this set. The music is ok if you're in the mood for it, but the songs I'd already downloaded (4 or 5) were much better than anything else in the set. Not worth full price.

This is, by far, the best collection of music around. I'm super addicted/obsessed with the show and when I found out they had actual soundtracks I just had to own them. I was a bit dissapointed when some of my show favorites weren't on season three, but the music they do have on it is grand. Even if you aren't a fan of the best show ever, you'll love this music.

I rarely buy compilations or "best of" albums. I got a great deal on this set at Amazon, though, and since I've liked the music on Grey's, took a risk. It's a great set. A nice up tempo beat on all three discs, making it great for a road trip.
