Audio CD Publisher: Manhattan Records Diana Ross may have hand-selected the 14 songs on this disc, but as its executive producer she didn't do her domineering reputation justice. Arrangements sag when they should snap-to. At times they're dozy. Occasionally, as in Berlin's "Take My Breath Away," they drown themselves in melancholy. But the good news is that they don't pull Diana's vocals down with them. There are moments on I Love You when the world's most distinguished diva positively purrs (Harry Nilsson's classic "Remember," which opens and closes the disc), and others when she digs deep ("To Be Loved"); 40-plus years into her career, her voice is still her own. In addition to the arrangements, problems with this imperfect disc include the songs themselves which, in this age of carefully calculated comebacks, could have been better edited (Spiral Staircase's "More Today Than Yesterday" is Ross's speed; Paul McCartney's contemplative "I Will" isn't). Still, when Diana goes for redemption she does it up big, true to form, and where I Love You redeems itself best is on its sole original composition. Title track "I Love You" is pure valentine; a heartfelt burst that, in three sweetly sung words, speaks volumes. --Tammy La Gorce

Why is it that Jeffrey Christian's one star review is stil on this board? His review calls Miss Ross "Disputable Repute", and says that she doesn't have much of a voice. F*ck him! What does he know!
Anyway, this album is one that warms the heart. Every time I listen to this album, I feel like I'm safe and warm from the cold, unfeeling outside world. Songs like "More Today Than Yesterday", "Always And Forever", "Remember", and "Take My Breath Away" are the most beautiful songs that I have ever heard. Highly recommended. I also recommend that you people show Jeffrey Christian the door, and pay Diana Ross the respect she deserves. Ignore this review, and click "Add To Cart"!

This is the album Diana Ross' original fans ( now in their 50's, 60,s & 70,s) have been waiting decades to hear. Long before she was a disco queen , she sang ballads, show tunes and standards. She bridged the gap between black & white and young & old with her music. If you became a fan during her dreadful ( with a few exceptions) RCA years you may not like this album, But if you remember her working with legendary performers like Bing Crosby, the Andrew Sisters, Ethel Waters and Bobby Darrin, just to name a few, you most likely will enjoy the CD. Diana Ross' voice is in fine shape despite rumors to the contrary. I saw her last April in concert and although the show was not as long as others in the past, she was still magnificent. Diana Ross is a show biz legend because of the sound of her voice (not because of her beauty or glamour) The original Supremes were magical and Florence Ballard was an integral part of the group, they never recaptured the tight harmonies after she left. But even in harmony with no lead, it was Diana's voice that gave the group it's "sound". I'm tired of hearing that Diana doesn't have the pipes of Patti Labelle, Whitney Houston, Aretha or Gladys Knight; neither does Dionne Warwick, yet she has done alright for herself. Aside from the totally unique sound of her voice, I have always been a fan of Diana Ross' because she sings her songs straight, meaning she sings the melody without the vocal acrobatics' that are supposed to pass as "soul". Soul comes from the heart and Diana has always sang from her heart. It is totally unfair for Diana's detractors to compare her voice to those of other female singers of her generation. There are many different instruments in an orchestra and some people prefer the sound of the violin over that of the trumpet. I have yet to find a recording of Dinah Washington or Billie Holiday "belting" out a song at the top of their lungs , yet these women have attained iconic status in the world of twentieth century popular music. I believe Diana Ross' music will stand the test of time as her work with The Supremes has already done. This CD is a great addition to Diana Ross' tremendous catalogue of music. I hope there will be more to come.

Before I start, I just have to say ignore that review by Jeffrey Christian. He doesn't know a good album even if his life depended on it!
Anyway this Cd is a great Cd to sit back and relax to after a stressed out day at work. Whenever I listen to this album, I close my eyes and let the voice of Diana Ross sing to me. I love all the songs, especially the song called "Remember". "When I feel sad and down, and I start crying, I play that song and let Miss Ross's sweet voice calm me down, and just when the song is over, I stop crying and start smiling. I also love the other songs. They are so inspiring. After all, Love conquers everything, and this Cd is the perfect example of that. Highly recommended.

| Diana Ross, I'm not afraid of you! |

Diana Ross was always known for a sinister look that she had in her eyes, and one look at her, and you'll be struck down where you stand. Diana Ross was the one who manipulated her way to the top with that sinister stare. She can't sing, so she has to have that ominous Karen Black like look in her eyes every time she made an appearance. That's sad, because those poor souls who gave her music more than one star have been enslaved by that woman for the last four decades.
On this album, Diana sinks her sinister influence into songs like "Remember", "More Today Than Yesterday", "To Be Loved", "Take My Breath Away", "Lovely Day", "Only You And You Alone", "I Will", "This Magic Moment", and "Always And Forever". This album looks as if it might have been done from her heart on the outside, but when you look into those sinister staring eyes, you will immediately know that something ominous is lurking behind them. Diana, I'm not your slave, Pal, and I'm not afraid of you. Only I can see through the blindness of this blinded cult following that you've made, and I will end your reign of terror. I do not care about whatever it was you went through in your life, Diana, and I don't love you! If you people don't want to be under the sinister influence of Diana Ross's evil cult, then do not buy this album. Do not touch it. Do not go near it. Do not look at it. Do not even discuss it with either your friends, or your family. Beware, for Diana's influence is so strong, that a single look at this album will spell your doom before you even know what happened.
Diana Ross, if you think you are who you think you are, then come out and face me man to man, hand to hand, and one on one. Don't expect an apology from me, because, as "Batista says, "I'm not sorry, and I don't love you"!
