The first scene man-to-man is quite explicit. The lover's toy is long and quite "cheerful". But that's all for the whole box. It's entertaining. I enjoyed it. However, it lacks what has promissed, more skin and hot scenes. Okay, there's skin, but I would not say it was hot. So, be aware.

Dante's Cove is AMAZING! Everything bad most of the reviews say about it is true and it's FABULOUS anyway. I don't think I've ever found anything so totally absurdly cheesy so completely and totally obsession-worthy. Guilty pleasure is right. Yes the story is weak to non-existent, the writing is bad at best, the acting is greatly hit-and-miss (fortunately the primary leads are the best), the editing and directing is terrible. But there is something inexplicably compelling about it. I mean...literally. I was hooked from the first episode and watched all three seasons in three days because I just couldn't get enough. I suppose the bottom line is that the story is interesting, the leads are endearing (even the villians), and it is easy to get invested in where the story is going. Another big plus is that it gets better and better and better as the seasons go by (on almost every level) and the total "semi-unintended-corny-camp value" bizarrely adds another level of entertainment to the whole package. It really is hard to describe but I told a straight girl-friend of mine about it and (since she shares an appreciation for totally bad tv) she wanted to borrow it. She LOVES it, too, and in fact, is having a hard time getting through all three seasons because she keeps going back again and again to rewatch parts. Yes...it is really bad...but rest assured you will LOVE it anyway. Think Dark Shadows meets Passions meets Melrose Place but totally gay, sweet and charming. Even the villian Ambrosius is so fabulous that I'd have a sex-change just to get him to sleep with me in real life.

This was a pretty good show. I admit it gets a little cheesy at times but it was pretty cool, and the men are nice to look at.
Season two is WAY better!

OMG... Loved this series. I bought this and Donte's Cove the 2nd season. I watched it all wk-end long with my friend. We couldn't stop watching until the end of the 2nd season. It really pissed me off the way they ended it... it left us wanting more. Total cliff hanger at the end of the 2nd season. We can't wait for the 3rd season to be released. If ever you wanted a wicked gay romance... this is for you. My friend and I are "Charmed" fanatics. So we loved the bewitching element of this gay drama. The 1st season is mildly cheesy at the beginning but by the 2nd season it will totally captivate you! HOT HOT men throughout the 2 seasons with very dramatic story lines. It's not hard to follow and by the end of the 2nd season all questions are answered. I def. recommend this series. You have to watch it from beginning to end to completely understand. The best of all gay Cinema.

The main reason to have a permanent copy of Dantes Cove is that the male leads are super hunky when having erotic gay sex in the midst of a witch epidemic. The actors were obviously chosen because they are all handsome hunks, and just as obviously failed to pass acting school. But why worry about such issues when you have the opportunity to have a gay version of the cult classic Dark Shadows. I think it is also nice that the lesbian characters get to have as much on air love making time as the guys. My favorite character is the tortured soul Kevin, cute, blond, and seductive, equally matched by his confused but muscular boyfriend Tobey. The names for both of the actors who play these parts are composed of two masculine, first names, ergo, these guys don't really want their moms to find out that they star in a gay soft porn film.
