Not what the other two reviews would have you believe. Most of it is remakes of old (and by remake I mean recycled from another DJ/remixer) songs and tired horns. Not worth the money, folks.

One thing is for sure, when you're looking for a non-stop dance mix compilation, and the name Kimberly S is attached, you need not worry about what your ears are about to hear. On this latest compilation from the stunning Ms. S, we get ten tracks that'll knock you into a dance daze and leave you there wanting more. This set includes flawless vocals from the legendary Loleatta Holloway "The Beast" (Johnny Vicious Mix), Angie Stone's smashing "I Wasn't Kidding" (Freemasons Vocal Club Remix), "Keep On Tryin' from Antoine Clamaran featuring Emily Chick (DJ Fist Tribal Remix) and the closing track "That Feeling" by DJ Chub Presents The Groove Foundation (Chus Mucho Drums Mix). Six Other tracks are worked in to this luxurious set that'll keep you busy throughout the party until your bottle rocket is about to explode. Once again, Kimberly S leaves us feeling more than satisfied and always wanting more. And what's wrong with wanting more?

I was blown away by DJ Kimberly's recent Global Groove CD, and was hoping for another great party here. It started off excellent with a dark diva vocal track featuring a sample of Bonnie Pointer's classic "Heaven Must Have Sent You". With track 2, Johnny Vicious samples just about every Loleatta cliché sample from the past 15 years (I don't know anybody else," "cause you're right on time", "let me tell you what you do to me, you get down to the real nitty gritty"....etc). It's not a bad track, it's just that Loleatta is so overdone. "Grade A Bitch" is funky disco house with a repetitive if not catchy bassline...which describes most of the remainder of this disc. Antoine Clamaran's "Keep on tryin", a pretty hot tribal track with some diva vocal, is the only track that strays from the disco house formula. There are a couple of freemasons remixes on here--and they are basically the inspiration for the predominant sound on this disc. Unfortunately, it just oozes into one indistinguishable track after another. You never detect a new song mixing in and think "ooh...what is THIS?" Even a hard-to-find Freemasons mix of Angie Stone can't save this one. Track times:
1. set me free...ventura (8:25)
2. the beast (Johnny vicious mix)...loleatta holloway (4:27)
3. grade a bitch...Jacques bauer (5:25)
4. keep on tryin (dj fist tribal mix)...antoine clamaran (6:03)
5. our roots...eric smax (5:35)
6. I just can't get enough (freemasons mix)...herd and fitz (7:36)
7. soulshakin...dennis Christopher (6:12)
|8. I wasn't kidding (freemasons mix)...angie stone (6:58)
9. time 2 turn around...denis the menace (8:26)
10. that feeling....dj chus presents groove foundation (6:15)
