This sounds good even over the best sound systems. Ran it over the system at a local theatre with excellent results. If anything is lacking, a room that big usually turns it up fast. If you need a canned track for performance, this should do it.

The backing tracks on this CD are quite well done. The instruments sound pretty good, though of course not as good as their acoustic counterparts. (Tip: If you feel that instruments on a track do not sound right, try playing it through a different type of speakers - this can make a real difference.)
The timings and orchestrations are easy to follow if you know the songs well. There is one part in Defying Gravity where it is challenging to jump in at first, but once you listen and count it a few times, you'll get it. I have used this CD for performances with my voice students and also personally and I would definitely recommend it!

From the moment I played the cd I realized the improvements in the orchestration since the previous karaoke version!
Well done and much easier to sing on!

I am grateful for the two reviews I read before purchasing this. It is as close to the show as one can get. Except there are strange gaps in Dancing through Life (one of my favorites) that when I sang with my son, we couldn't figure out...but the orchestration is awesome. Wish it had a "karaoke" track so you could figure out where to "come in" on some parts but VERY VERY good. Enjoying it. We have the Wicked Soundtrack too so if you want to compare, you could use that if you were going to perform somewhere vocally.
