Audio CD Publisher: Atlantis Modeled after its smash hit double CD gay dance mix series Let’s Hear It For The Boy and imported from S.A.I.F.A.M. Italy’s Atlantis label, Megahit Records proudly presents Let’s Hear It For The 80s Vol. 1! Celebrating the decade of big hair and skinny ties, Let’s Hear It For The 80s Vol. 1’s non-stop mix features dance versions of the decades most massive gay-friendly hits ("Venus," "Get Into The Groove," "Take On Me," "Physical," "Total Eclipse Of The Heart" and more), plus the current international hit "Like A Prayer" by Mad’house. Other highlights include a brand new remix of gay icon Divine’s 1984 classic "Native Love" entitled "Step By Step" and the original hard-to-find campy 80s hit "Vamos a la Playa" by Righeria. Best of all, Let’s Hear It For The 80s Vol. 1 features another attractive "cover boy" in a revealing pose. Let’s Hear It For The 80s Vol. 1 is the perfect gay party album!

Don't expect the original artists, but this collection of covers is bangin'. You must close your eyes to experience the full effect of these tracks. There is no imagery necessary. Keep your eyes closed and OFF of the cover art. This just isn't necessary to sell this LP. Yet, if it gets you into the groove, so be it. Buy this and keep this disc on repeat.

The 80's are back with this upbeat remixed and revamped CD of some of the decade's biggest hits. I simply love to listen to this compilation and boy what a motivator when it comes to the gym! Some of the stand out tracks are...
Cruel Summer
Step by Step
Living on Video
Electric Avenue
Total Eclipse of the Heart
In the Evening
If this CD fails to move you; you're probably dead. There are two weaker tracks but even those grow on you after a while. They are...
Like a prayer by Madhouse and
Vamos a la plya which is kind of catchy but very retro. The rest of the tracks are High NRG and great! My two favourites have got to be
Living on Video and
In the Evening. Have fun with this one and check out the cute boy on the cover. Nudge nudge wink wink

I was disappointed in this CD. I was expecting the real versions of the songs, not cover band versions. I graduated in 1985 and I don't even recognize many of the songs. Now that I read back on other reviews, I wished I had reviewed them before I purchased.

These are not the original hits I hear on the radio or the danceclub. They are pretty much covers by faceless session vocalists. The music quality is not good either. Boys, there are much better compilations release by Megahit Records such as the "Gay Happening" & "Divas of Dance" series. Try those instead boys!

I am a hardcore fan of both techno and 80s music. When you combine the two, it's even better. Out of all the CDs I own that have the combination of the two, this is by far the best. While the songs have the upbeat music you can dance to, you are still able to discern the original songs. This album is a must for those that enjoy revamped 80s songs.
