Magazine Publisher: Brant Publications Format: Magazine Subscription, Print The ultimate pop culture magazine. We bring you up close and personal with the biggest celebrities that are shaping pop culture for today & tomorrowfrom the world of movies, music and fashion. The brainchild of Andy Warhol back in the heyday of the '70s club culture, Interview magazine has morphed from newsletter and photo essay of the Studio 54 set to the arbiter of what defines cutting edge for the nation (well, at least those in the nation who believe New York to be the center of the universe). It's magazine chic at its highest. When you pick up the magazine, don't look for Julia Roberts; look for the woman who will eclipse Julia in the next five years. The concept of the magazine couldn't be simpler--Q&A format, accompanied by photographs--but the Q is often provided by celebrity interviewers, and the A is usually extremely insightful, intriguing, and candid. And the photographs are the crème de la crème, by A-list lensers like Bruce Weber, Herb Ritts, and Annie Leibovitz (if you don't know them by name, this is definitely not the magazine for you). Nudity and profanity may put off some readers; others will be pleasantly titillated. --Mark Englehart

I signed up for a subscription in November of 2009 for this magazine. I have yet to receive
the first issue.
I complained to Amazon about not receiving any issues of this magazine and got a response
from Interview customer support to "Ask the Postman because our records show that we shipped
the magazine". No tracking number was given. No dates when it was sent. Just their word that
they sent it.
When I actually asked the postman he could not have laughed any harder. I'm sure that this is
only magazine he delivers and that the post office is pulling all it's resources into checking
out this complaint.
Bottom line is that this is like a lottery, pay for a subscription, cross your fingers
and hope your a winner and get what you paid for. I was a loser this time.
Poor customer, thank you Tammi of Interview Magazine for your ten seconds of support and blaming
the post office. After all your records could not possibly be error.

I ordered 6 or 7 magazine subscriptions from Amazon, and have been pleased with 5 or 6. My experience with Interview was that no issues of the magazine ever arrived, customer service was next to non-exsistant (they offered to extend my subscription to a magazine that never materialized, and for some stange reason, whose cover on Amazon magazines never updates...do they still publish it?????), and then charged me for magazines that I never recieved. I once subscribed several years ago and, although it was a look at the pictures and toss after skimming type of magazine, thought enough of the magazine to give it another try, but take my advice and save your money. You'll just get excuses and aggravation, lose money and receive nothing but a chance to write a review and complain.

Interview has been hit with a number of production problems over the last year. The dual editors Glenn O'Brien and Fabien Baron coulnd't agree on content so Baron leaves in January of 09. Art directors M/M Paris come in for three issues but leave when they aren't paid. O'Brienn leaves in the summer of '09 and Baron comes back. The result? Well, the magazine never comes on time (up to 2 Months late, if at all!) There is also a lot of doubling up the months, instead of October and November issues there is one October/November issue combo, same with December and January.
And this is written on February 7, and still no February issue of the magazine has been mailed.
So subscribe at your own risk, because who knows if Interview is going to be around long enough to fulfill your subscription. And at $6 an issue, it is really not worth buying it on the newsstand.
And to update, it is now March 15 and I have received no February issue OR March issue.
Here is Interview's response:
"We regret to inform you that our February issue will be delivered late
due to production delays.
Please allow until March 10, 2010 for delivery of this issue.
We are sorry for the inconvenience this has caused. Case id: 10515428
So again, do not waste your money on a subscription to Interview- you will not be mailed any magazines.
