Now THIS is a Julian Marsh mix!
Customer Rating: 5 out of 5
Trance, female vocals, hi nrg covers. Julian Marsh peaks throughout this one. The tony moran mix of The Steps is excellent. The cover of Boys of Summer isn't the DJ Sammy mix, but it's the same idea. River Deep sounds a little odd in a trancy format, but it's still kickin. Adeva's vocals on In an Out of My Life get a trance mix for the first time. Martha's Harbour is a smooth female vocal trance track. And this style of music takes us euphorically to the end of the disc, which is topped by a gorgeous female vocal track. And best of all, Marsh treats us to a collection of long mixes instead of throwing in 2 minute fillers here and there. Track times:

1. one for sorrow (7:24)
2. boys of summer (6:51)
3. river deep mountain high (5:14)
4. in and out of my life (6:10)
5. liesperanza (6:34)
6. martha's harbour (7:04)
7. do you dream (7:04)
8. red sun rising (5:48)
9. dreaming of you (7:19)
10. touched by god (5:58)
11. pray (7:38)

Music for the Third Millenium
Customer Rating: 5 out of 5
While I am not much of a fan of Julian Marsh's other albums,
this one is utterly fantastic! I've owned it for three years
now, and it remains my favourite "trance" album. Hooky,
melodic, vocal trance populates this disc from start to finish.
Re4Mation's cover of "The Boys of Summer" really gets things
moving. The album reaches full steam with the train of
"Martha's Harbour", "Do You Dream", and the stunning
trance masterpiece of Lost Witness's "Red Sun Rising".
The music then glides gracefully to a conclusion in the
remaining three tracks.

If I could give this album six stars, I would.

thoroughly enjoyed it

I can't say enough about it, and I'm not freinds with julian whoever (DJ). I have searched for music like this for so long and continue to sift through [stuff] called trance that is repetitive with zero depth. Some of these songs didn't capture me and that's fine, but the rest stirs blood-bigtime. It's like they made this music scientifically to elevate heartbeats and adrenaline. I was once told that what I wanted was called "breakbeat", though all I got was funny looks at the music stores. If you liked any of the GATECRASHER cd's you will probably enjoy this, and I've given it to freinds who still tell me that they love it. One thing that needs to be said about this cd, I had the opportunity to put all the songs through an effects processor which made all the difference. An echo (or something to make it a bigger sound) was used and it sounds perfect.

Ick!

If I could give it less that one star I would. This was the biggest disapointment. After reading so many great reviews I bought it and couldn't wait to sell it.

The mixing is terrible, like tiny little train wrecks. The track selection is boring, and it energy (what little there is) goes no where. I have to assume that the reviews before this came from friends of this Julian Marsh dj who obviously needs to go back to DJ101.

Very nice

I really liked this CD. Julian Marsh almost always pulls together a fun selection of songs. I probably wouldn't be all that inspired to jump around much to these songs at an actual club -- a little fluffy for that -- but for a CD player they are perfect! Plenty of bouncy beats and joyous lyrics. I'm usually irritated by hi-NRG remakes (remember "Dreamweaver?" -- yack!), so I'm embarrassed to admit I too kinda like "River Deep," and that I just can't stop singing Re4mation's "Boys of Summer" -- with our without the CD playing. Besides those, there's another nice remix of "In and Out of My Life" (that for some reason keeps reminding of Todd Terry Project's best stuff). And I don't know how many times I've rewound the last song "Pray," by Tina Cousins just to listen to the orchestration of the chorus. It's heavenly! Apparently, this is the 2nd in a new monthly series by Centaur Music.... I'm looking forward to them.
