  • For both new viewers and diehard fans, this illuminating guide to the Emmy and Golden Globe Award–winning television program helps Lost fanatics piece together the latest additions to the puzzle from season four with detailed discussions of the multitudinous characters, their spotty backgrounds, and the mysterious islands. Thorough examinations of each episode provide fresh insight into the baffling worlds of both the plane crash survivors and the Others, while analyzing numerous concepts, such as the importance of the Oceanic Six, how the time travel theories play into the greater mysteries on the show, how different characters' paths are beginning to cross, and how the series could possibly end. Additional chapters explore the historical figures, religious iconography, literary allusions—to such works as Slaughterhouse-Five and Shakespeare's The Tempest—and other clues scattered throughout the show. Dozens of previously unpublished on-set photos and new cast member biographies are also included.

    A collector's item
Customer Rating: 5 out of 5
What I love about Nikki's books is that she has a gift for engaging the reader's mind and letting him or her join in the process of analyzing Lost. It means her books, and this one is no exception, are not only fun to read, but fun to think about for a long time afterward. Season four's guide is her best effort yet and great fun.

Puzzled about LOST? Put the pieces together with Nikki's help
Customer Rating: 5 out of 5
For the true LOST aficionado, the hiatus between seasons of the show is only slightly more excruciating than the wait for Nikki Stafford's latest guide to the series. Her in-depth analysis of the relationships, story-telling and mythology of the show is an essential tool in understanding the multi-faceted phenomenon of television's most compelling series. Literary references, the significance of characters' names, scientific theories - they're all described here in accessible and exhaustive detail. Fans the world over are asking themselves: what will they do when LOST ends its sixth and final season in 2010? I can tell them: line up in anticipation of Nikki's next installment

For the casual and avid viewer
Customer Rating: 5 out of 5
Nikki Stafford does a great job of breaking things down in a way that is understandable and accessible, and you do not have to have seen every episode 4 times to get the benefit of her insights. I started out as a casual fan (though that didn't last very long) and didn't have the benefit of in depth knowledge of every twist and turn. Starting with her Season 1 & 2 guide, I would watch the episode, then read the chapter. I was able to follow and understand the nuances and deeper meaning of the activities and plot twists on the show. This has significantly increased my viewing pleasure. :) It was like watching with a friend, then discussing it afterwards! She catches everything, and has some of the same questions I would have at the end of the show. What is great with the later Finding Lost books in the series (Season 3 and 4) is the references to the earlier episodes, bringing even more depth to the analysis.

If you care about good writing, acting, character and plot development in a television show, then this needs to be your viewing companion.

FIND THE EASTER EGGS...WITH NIKKI'S HELP!
Customer Rating: 5 out of 5
Get the most out of "Lost" with these companion books by Nikki Stafford! Even the most fervent Lost watcher will be astounded by what Nikki knows about the show. Stafford reads any and ALL books referred to in the show (Really, who wants to read "A Brief History Of Time" by Hawkins?!?),spots easter eggs, writes cast bios, researches character names that are based on actual people....whew! Great to have when watching the show on dvd or in syndication.

    Good book-Needs episode recaps
Customer Rating: 3 out of 5
This book is well written and insightful. There is one major flaw...The lack of episode recaps. The author warns about the lack of episode recaps up front. Her suggestion is to re-watch the episodes and then read her musings on each episode. I bought this book precisely because my brain was having trouble holding five seasons worth of information and I needed a refresher without having to watch the episodes again. The author does raise some very good questions in her chapters on each episode. Additionally, she recaps who, if anyone, has died in the episode. She also has a special section on the numbers(4..8..15..16..23..42..like I need to tell you this) as they appear in each episode. That being said, I can say I am still going to buy Finding Lost Season 5 when in comes out in October.
